About Lean_in
Lean_in is a movement-based organisation rooted in embodied practice, emotional honesty, and the intelligence of the body. Founded by Joshua Jarvis Jones (Just_Josh), a movement facilitator, practitioner, and choreographer, Lean_in offers classes, workshops, performances, and creative processes that explore how we move, relate, and release.
At its heart, Lean_in is a space to soften—into sensation, into presence, into the parts of ourselves we often brace against. It’s not about fixing; it’s about feeling. Through release technique, contemporary movement, and contact improvisation, participants are invited to return to the body as a site of knowing, storytelling, and connection.
Josh has facilitated across the UK, Europe, India, and Thailand, bringing this work into festivals, studios, and unconventional spaces—always with the intention to meet people where they’re at and invite them into deeper relationship with their bodies.
Lean_in also engages in live performance, with improvised works emerging through contact and contemporary improvisation. Alongside these, a growing body of choreographic work explores themes of relational psychology. The first of these pieces, Echoes of Attachment, is currently in process—a tender and honest dive into the patterns, tensions, and truths of human connection.
Whether on the floor of a workshop or in the space between performers on stage, Lean_in holds space for what’s raw, real, and ready to move.
