Echos of Attachment
Project Type
Dance for stage and film
Date
Summer 2026
Echoes of Attachment is a devised movement work by Lean_in, exploring the embodied imprints of how we bond, break, and seek connection. Rooted in contact improvisation and relational research, this piece draws from attachment theory—examining how early relational patterns shape the ways we move with, toward, or away from others.
In a post-Covid world marked by distance, disconnection, and redefinition of intimacy, this work becomes both timely and timeless. It navigates the subtle tensions between closeness and autonomy, trust and defense, longing and withdrawal—asking how these echoes live in the body, and how they move between us.
Through improvised structures, physical negotiation, and deep listening, Echoes of Attachment invites audiences into a raw and reflective space—where personal history meets collective experience, and where the body becomes the site of relational memory.
